I'm proud to say it's our team who won this game! :)
I actually tried playing the game (another version though) in a Geography camp I attended, which was why I really wanted to win this time. :)
The class was so full of energy! Even when the game ended, it's like we want to have another fight, or need I say, another water fight. :)
We were made to throw water balloons at each other (not really balloons because they used ice plastics). Whoever gets wet dies and will no longer be allowed to try to hit someone with water.
The variation made it more exciting because only one person needs to die for your team to win, and it's the queen! I was so proud with one of my groupmates Jake because he was able to sneak in the other groups, and surprising both our teams, he literally splashed the water to their queen without being stopped. It was hilarious because I actually know their queen and even she was having fun because of what Jake did.
So for this game, I'm giving the varsity award to Jake.

TOP # 5: CALAHOYO
Okay, this game is just impossible! I never really succeeded in making my "anak" (the smaller stone) get inside the hole. Not to mention, the fact that one of my coplayers ended up hitting my anak and making it nearer the hole a couple of times. :)
I was surprised when after our first try (in which I already got the impression that it's not the easiest thing to make your "anak" get inside the hole for this game), someone was actually able to do it! Guess who? :)
It's one of our Japanese classmates Hitomo! Hurray for her! So for me, she's the varsity for this game. :)
As for the variations - I have one comment. Seriously, it's like the reporters don't want any of us to win LOL :)
They want us to make our "anak" get inside the hole after making us spin. To think that I wasn't doing good in the game even without spinning.
Still, it was fun cheering for your coplayer who succeeded in what you couldn't do. :)
It's what makes a game more interesting: the fact that people actually want to see someone winning. There's no crab mentality, at least in our area. :) Praise God for this!

TOP # 3: PUSA AT DAGA
This game to me was the cutest because of the props! The reporters provided us with headbands designed with cat ears for the PUSA and mouse ears for the DAGA.
I actually wanted to be the PUSA because of the headband LOL :)
I also thought that my classmates were enthusiastic in playing the game. I only had to ask a late comer once to wear the mouse ears and be the RAT for me since I wanted to wear the cat ears LOL, and he instantly agreed. :)
The variations were also fun, regardless of me being squeezed literally, and the fact that I stumbled. Thank God for my coplayers who supported me. :)
I'd like to give the varsity player award to my classmate Kian. She and Alex led our team to victory in a round! And I really witnessed how dedicated cats they were haha :)

TOP # 2: STING
This is the game that added sparks to my desire to win, but it's also one of the games that didn't let me win.
Sting for me is sort of a lighter version of boxing. You have to hold hands with your opponent, and then at the shout of go (or in our case when our professor whistled), you have to sting your opponent with your pointing finger, at the same preventing her/them from stinging you.
I actually asked myself, "If such game as "Sting" exists, and it's this fun, why do people choose violent games such as boxing?" Not that I have anything against boxing. I'm just saying, there are other options which wouldn't hurt and wouldn't put human lives at stake. At least, it's ridiculous or overly exaggerating to imagine an injury that can be caused by playing "Sting."
While I was so busy with my game to play, I can sense the rest of my classmates were doing their best to win as well. In our case, I and my opponent are going around in circles, literally, because we've been using forces trying to sting each other. Try it. :) Maybe you'll go in circles too. Then again, it's actually weird that not all of us were going in circles.
Good thing I didn't feel dizzy because I was so busy having fun! My first opponent was my friend Rona, and we ended up tie. Then when we played the variation with another pair, we ended up going in circles too LOL :)
Not to mention, we also ended up as tie.
For that I give "Sting" the "Most Tablahan Game Award."
For the varsity, I choose Rona. Rona was my first opponent and I really had fun going in circles with her. She's a good friend of mine and it was our first time trying to beat each other in a game. Sting is just so cool!
TOP # 1: BERONG-BERONG
Sounds familiar? No? No worries, I didn't find it familiar either. But that's exactly what makes it more fun to play. It's like a new experience, a new sweat flowing, arm linking experience. And I mean it, literally.
The game "Berong-berong" is like an improvised version of tag. Only this time, it's more challenging and exciting because of the twists. It isn't, is too far, from the ordinary tag we know.
The game requires an "it" (taya) in the beginning. Then once the "it" gets to tag another player, two of them needs to link their arms side by side. Yup, boy or girl, there's no excuse. You have to be linked together, running side by side, literally. Your free arm at the opposite ends are the ones you're going to use to make more "its." The more "its," the longer chain of "its" there'll be. Regardless, only the free arms at the two opposite ends of the chain are able to tag.
As we call it in our country, it can be described as "matira matibay." I could just imagine my classmates who were laughing all the way, desperately running to tag the rest of us. The more of us turned "it" the better, because we get to trap the rest of the surviving players, leaving them with no way out, so that tagging them will be easier.
If I were to describe it, the atmosphere was so nostalgic. When we started the class, we didn't really know each other. But as we played, it's as if our differences don't matter. Only smiles and laughter do! And we didn't even find being linked arm to arm yucky, not even with all the sweat.
The variations involved separating the supposedly long chain in divisions, so it's like a virus spreading out once it reaches a certain number. The more chains, the harder it is for the survivors and the greater adrenaline rush we'll have.
So to this game I'll give the "Most Nakakaenjoy Game Award for Summer 2012."
This is the game where we were all like kindergartens, only caring about having fun. No specific person excels more than the rest, at least for me. It felt like for this game, we were all the varsities. But of course, credit to the last remaining survivor! :)
